Fiona provides bespoke mediation and communication training to the private and public sector, working with teams, team leaders, line manager and junior staff to help them develop better communication and inter-personal skills.
Fiona is a firm believer that conflict in the workplace can be resolved if team members have a better understanding of the skill set used to communicate effectively, positively and in an amicable and reasonable manner. Encouraging empathy, building rapport and collaborative consultation, as well as offering mentoring and guidance to team managers- Fiona is a firm believer that disruptive conflict can be eliminated from the workplace, when the right skill set is applied.
Fiona believes that the more an organisation invests time and man-power in improving communication, interpersonal interaction and developing leaders with emotional intelligence and a resolution skill set, the more profitable, competitive and productive that organisation will be.
Fiona says:
“I thoroughly enjoy listening to people’s experiences and life stories. It is only by listening to others that we can truly learn and build our own skill set. In my coaching and training work I make sure that I provide space for the stories my participants want to share, and draw upon their own experiences and encounters to create relevant and interactive training. At the same time, I maintain a foundation of focus on the specifics of positive communication, good leadership and values based skill-sets (otherwise known as “soft skills” or “emotional intelligence”) and place them in the context of the participants' day to day experiences. This way, the training is relevant, focused and immediately applicable.”
This is more than just a method of conflict resolution. It is training on how to successfully navigate a world where conflict, disagreement and problems are all around us all the time.
